Title: IT Support Specialist
Location: Saint Paul, MN 55117
Duration: 6 months
Pay Range: $25/hr-$33/hr on W2
Job Description:
This position is for the Computer Systems Engineering team in Research and Development with the Software Development team. We are looking for a talented individual to join the team as an R&D Engineer working within product development. The position will assist with the Computer Systems Development team in configuration, installation, and deployment of systems for Client Electrophysiology systems.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Configuration, installation, and deployment of software to Client workstations and laptops
• Create, update, and track issues in Client's issue management system
• Provide input to documentation of product development and production procedures
• Perform quality assurance checks on issues and computer systems
• Collaborate with the software development team to document, track, maintain, and perform associated tasks as required
Years of Experience: Preferred 1 to 2 years’ experience in engineering, computer science, information technology, or related fields.
Education: Preferred minimum of Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, or related fields. Experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Required Qualifications:
• Experience with Microsoft Windows or Linux Operating System installation and configuration, including driver troubleshooting and OS enhancements, and software installation
• Detail oriented with the ability to follow written procedures and document progress on tasks
• Experience working with issue management systems to create, triage, and track issues
• Familiarity with performing quality assurance checks on computer systems
• Organized and on-time with ability to follow thru on tasks and work in a structured process environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with high-end workstations, laptops, network hardware, internal cards like frame grabbers and external accessories like printers, monitors, touchscreens, etc.
• Familiarity with Word, Visio, and similar documentation tools
• Familiarity with writing and running test procedures
• Capable of producing polished, detail-oriented written technical documentation
• Familiarity with OS patching
• Familiarity with software revision control system
